Inspired by casual travels and spontaneous explorations, this exhibition highlights the beauty of unexpected places found along backroads and rural paths. With scenes ranging from quiet creeks to open fields and winding country roads, “The Art of Wandering” is a celebration of discovering the extraordinary in the ordinary. This show emphasizes the importance of slowing down, paying attention, and finding beauty in places that many might pass by without a second glance.
About Greg Stone:
“When I paint a landscape, I work to reduce the scene to its essential components. Whether it’s a shape that represents a recognizable landmark or a pattern of light and shadow that obscures and reveals new depths, the elements of the painting exist in harmony to capture the mood and feeling of a particular place. I want to give my viewer what is most important in the scene in the hopes it will help quiet the mind and evoke an emotional response. Perhaps if we master this practice with a painting, we can mimic that practice in the natural world around us, slowing down to appreciate, refresh, and protect that world and all the beings who inhabit it. I have earned the distinctions of Signature Member of the Pastel Society of America and Master Circle member from the International Association of Pastel Societies. I am a member of the American Impressionist Society, Oklahoma Pastel Society, Tulsa Artists Guild, and MidAmerica Pastel Society. I am represented by the Warm Springs Gallery in Warm Springs, Virginia, Gallery 716 in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and the Terra Rosa Gallery in Guthrie.”
