GALLERY I & II - Duets, Autism Oklahoma

Duets is an annual exhibition that showcases the talents of artists on the spectrum, celebrating its fifth year at the Paseo Arts & Creativity Center. Each of the 19 artworks in this exhibit are a “duet painting,” made by the pairing of a neurodiverse artist and a neurotypical artist. Visitors can meet the pairs of artists and bid on the artworks during the opening reception on April 4. “Sometimes when you bring two artists together, magic happens. It is an honor to share a little magic at Duets. The art auction raises funds to help cover the costs of our more than 75 programs that bring joy and community to Oklahomans with autism and their families,” said Kelly Dyer Fry, executive director of Autism Oklahoma.

“Autism Oklahoma is a non-profit that provides programs that help communities accept and embrace people who have autism, help families thrive and help individuals with autism reach their potential, have friends and lead a meaningful life,” said Dee Blose, director of program development of Autism Oklahoma.  Several programs will be held alongside Duets at the Paseo Arts & Creativity Center this April, including a special art class on Saturday, April 19 and the Workshop for Professional Development: Embracing Neurodiversity: Creating Welcoming Spaces in Cultural Institutions on Tuesday, April 22 in partnership with the training organization, Square Holes.
